Joyce to the World: Baguio
I went on a fright tour in Baguio and, afraid of ghosts, I went on it with much reluctance; to my surprise, I ended up thoroughly enjoying myself as I found the bit where the tour guide wears a V for Vendetta mask and plays supposedly scary music in the van (awoooo, Twilight Zone stuff) quite silly, and rather entertaining. After a historical drive through Baguio City, we grabbed some grub in Cafe by the Ruins, then ordered some craft beer at the Baguio Craft Brewery.
As somebody who almost always went up to Baguio for the summer growing up, I am quite familiar with the place. Not much has changed, really, since I last went there, except for maybe traffic and the weather. Baguio will always have a special place in my heart - and it's great to explore it this way. Kind of understanding how the locals do it, now as an adult, shopping in the Ukay-Ukay (thrift shops), going on random food trips (Choco-late D Batirol), doing the drive up to BenCab museum (around 40mins from the city center), made me appreciate Baguio even more.
